Steve Maynard is an Associate with WHR and serves as Sustainability Coordinator. He serves as the USGBC Project Team Administrator for LEED projects. Steve is a major proponent of WHR’s Sustainable Initiative and an advocate of ecological and sustainable design issues. In his own words, “‘green’ is not a cause du jour, it is a lifelong commitment.” During his five years with the firm, Steve has worked on many of WHR’s LEED and sustainably designed projects. Having a background in design and architecture enables Steve to work collaboratively with design team members to achieve and understand the design process while integrating and delivering large, technologically and programmatically complex projects. His experience with healthcare clients gives him a unique understanding of indoor environmental quality that affects human health in addition to resource-efficient approaches to sustainability. Understanding the delicate balance of aesthetics, functionality and professional responsibility, Steve aims to provide seamless integrated design.
Steve has a Master of Architecture from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from University of Michigan. He is a Registered Architect in Texas and a LEED Accredited Professional with Specialty in Building Design and Construction (LEED AP BD+C). He is a member of the Rice Design Alliance as well as USGBC Greater Houston Chapter, where he serves on the Advocacy Committee.
